Started off with shorties and had all sorts of issues.
I'm 5'11" and won't go near anything shorter than my 10.5 ft tablecloth, though I usually hike with 11 ft. BIAS WWM. Mighty comfy.

6' 1" and use a 10 footer. I have no problems with a 10 footer but the width is important in combination with length for comfort. I have used 11' footers and saw no real benefits for the added weight in my pack. Remember if you hammock backpacking your tarp length will need to cover the hammock, thats more weight too. If your just making a hammock for your yard go huge. Dat my 2 cent!
6'-5", using an XLC (11 foot hammock) now and have found hammock nirvana
6ft tall and my most comfy is 11 1/2 ft.
Im 6'4" and wasn't comfortable till I got an 11' hammock. I just made a 11.5' hammock and I think its the most comfortable one yet.
Based on every hammock I have tried so far, I've found that the longer it is, the more comfortable it is for me (I'm about 6'). My favorite camping hammock is an 11 footer. It's a good compromise between comfort and weight, and I get good tarp coverage.
I'm 6' 1" Eleven foot hammock and a properly sized (for me 108") ridge line is perfect for me.
I'm 6'5" and use a 12' - I can sleep in an 11' and own several, but the 12' is noticeably more comfortable for me.
I'm 5' 8" and have gone from short ENO double nest to WildernessLogics night owl 11'x5'--and now my favorite is a WildernessLogics 12'x6' made with Dutch's 1.6hexon wide. It's ultra comfortable. But when going with a 12' my bugnet needed to be replaced with a bugnet a foot longer and a foot bigger around and a 12' hammock probably needs a 12' tarp (ridgeline). Although my tarp is 13' ridgeline. This will affect pack volume and pack weight but old phantom does not care--since however far he treks--when looking up into the night sky--his star is directly overhead when he lays back in his hammock--and thus he is in the center of his own universe. Fun fun fun! I know the stars appear to move across the night sky. Why are you under my star? Get out from under my star!
Now I gotta find trees spaced an extra step apart.
