    wet tarp

so I just got a Deluxe Explorer Zip. I'm wondering what is the best thing to do with tarp set up and break down is the factory set up the best or is using a separate RL better. Also if they are both kept in the same snake skins what do you do when you have to pack a wet rain fly
It's not the fall im scared of, it's the sudden stop at the end!!!

I prefer to us a second ridge line. I got mine over at whoopie sling vendor. As for packing them both in the same skin I would avoid putting them together if the tarp is wet. I would put the hammock in a black bishop bag and the tarp in the skins.

This is the one I have: http://shop.whoopieslings.com/Single...-Line-TRL1.htm

I use it with the small number 1 s-biners.

I used the Hennessy Hex Fly. Its a bit bigger than the standard one. When you use the s-biners you clip the ends of the tarp onto them instead of the stock clips that the hennessy comes with.

Here's a thread that shows the ride line and the way I hand my tarp.

separate ridgelines and separate snake skins work best for me.

thanks again guys for the info. I'm gonna set it up like my diy set up is whoopies, seprate storage and ridgeline. That way I will have no problems. On another note I was wondering if ill need to do anything to my current diy UQ to make it work on the Hennessy, like add loops at the hammock tie out points

Which side is "up" by the way? My hennessy tarp has one shiny, "sticky" feeling side. I assume that's the DWR coating. The other has a smoother, duller, more "fabric" feeling side. I have to roll it up with the smoother side out, otherwise it's a pain fitting back in the little stuff sack. The stuff sack is the same way, I had to turn it inside out, the inside was the "sticky" side.
So when I hang the tarp, which side should be exposed to the sun and rain? The dull fabric-y side, or the shiny sticky plastic-y side? Or does it matter ?
