Great read and what a great guy. I have spoken to Adam on the phone once. He was helpful and very accommodating. And now I know what guy of guy he is outside of the office.
Can anyone help? I cannot find a message I received earlier about a HF member who offered a ride to Stormcrow with his injury. He needs a ride from Weaverville, NC to Asheville, NC by 3PM for the orthopedic surgeon.
PM me for info, thanks....

We got a ride!!! MANY thanks for the quick responses.

Hey everyone,
Just a quick update. I got the xray back and nothing is broken (I figured that one). I am at the orthopedic clinic now to hopefully get a more definitive prognosis. I THINK I hyperextended my toe and popped/pulled something loose in the shin area. Right after I did it, it got really hot and a small knot formed about four inches up from my outside ankle bone (right leg).
There was not much I could have done at the time because I was still about 8 miles from exiting the Smokies. However, walking the 30+ miles over the next two days into Hot Springs, NC might not have been the best course of action. Don't judge me too harshly, it is not easy to judge the severity of these injuries. However, I knew I might be taking a gamble to continue with this one.... .
I will know more in a few hours. I also want to thank you guys so much for the support. The network of people willing to five me a hand has really been uplifting.
Today is my first zero day and frankly, it is killing me. One of the things that keeps me going, is momentum. I LIKE doing 20+ mile days. I just had that one critical misstep... That is how quickly it can happen. I wasn't even going that fast, I was just a little wobbly legged from all the climbing of the day.
Ok, I am just rambling now. Just a bit discouraged. Even Fin said "you are not your usual 'stormcrow' self". I'll be just fine when I get through this. And i will.
Oh and by the way. I am having a blast out here!
