    How long is your ridgeline? 83% of the hammock length is a good starting point but it should be tweaked to your comfort. If you have to set up that high you probably have nylon straps which will leave your butt on the ground over time. Some polyester straps or whoopie slings will not stretch and you'll have some consistency in your set up.

    Definitely sounds like you have nylon webbing. Get some polyester webbing and you'll be hanging pretty in no time!

    Look into the Dutch hook system. The heaviest thing in the system are the tree huggers. You can find it on the Dutchware website.

    I made a giant whoopie to use as a ridgeline, adjustable from around 85" to 108" It works splendidly! My preferred sag is around 95"-96".

    Yes back when I was A Greenhorn LOLOLO that wasn't to long ago but since I joined the forums I Have learned alot. Anyway ya pulling the hammock taught is not that comfortable try out the 30* angle and you might find it better trust me.
