    Why? Just because they want to suffer on the ground doesn't mean you should! The guys I usually hike with are tenters, I always hang! I have to be real careful at the end of the day to keep the smug look off of my face as they reject site after site (too rockey, too steep etc....)

    yeah, that is one of the best parts of hammocking with tenters.

    and then trying not to laugh when they say, "how do you sleep in that thing?"
