New Summer Flight Jacket TQ ordered before the rush

I originally planned to use a fleece blanket for Top insulation this summer- but after seeing how much bulkier that would be than one of the UGO summer Top Quilts the decision was a no-brainer. Paul and Missy's products are also very lightweight comparatively speaking.

I wanted to beat the rush - so to speak! So, decided to go ahead and order my summer TQ from UGO last night - before the temperature begins to rise and the orders for summer quilts begin to stack-up. Paul has already emailed back to me - that was fast!

    • 50* Cause that matches my environment and backpacking habits.
    • DWR treated down.
    • Lt Olive outer and Grey inner.

Now waiting patiently for my 50* Flight Jacket with a smile on my face

Congrats on the new gear. Looks like a great setup! I'd sure love to lighten my load with a set of summer quilts. The problem is that here in Colorado, temps always have a chance to drop to freezing-ish up in the mountains (which is where all the great backpacking is!).

My plan for the summer was to use a poncho liner as a top quilt, but I believe this may take its place due to how small it packs, how light it is, and how well I anticipate it will do in the hot southern heat.

Indeed, after having seen one this past weekend at Smoked Butt, I made the decision that after a new tarp it would be my next piece of kit.

Also, didn't realize you were just up the road a piece in Charlotte - we need to get out and hang again!

BREYMAN: I wondered about that. So, what do you upper altitude hangers do? Carry two quilts? Vent a winter one??

GRESH: I'm glad you won the (my UGQ TQ at the smoked butt hang last weekend. Enjoyed meeting ya and the rest of the SC contingent too. Now on to the important stuff... when you swap that quilt what colors and features are you getting?

Lime on the inside, olive on the outside. It'll match the Swamp Sling.

    You?

I just ordered some new UGQ gear as well...black WD11 w/ orange stitching, 40 deg Zeppelin full length UQ with tangerine outer, purple inner and, DWR down, and since that lime color caught my eye, a lime pillow...along with a couple other accessory items.
