Noah's Tarp 12x12 for ENO doublenest?

    Hey folks

    quick story:

Ive got about 25 dollars credit at REI, and I am in the market for a tarp.

Looking on their site, the noahs tarp seems pretty nice, anyone have any experience with it?

any other recommendations? again, looking to spend at REI to use up this credit, which expires soon

I've used the 9 and the 12. If you can swing it, go for the 12. You won't be disappointed with the extra coverage.
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.

I have the 12 and am not unhappy with it but, I don't backpack. I motorcycle camp so weight is not an issue. If you backpack wait for some of the folks who do to weigh in for you.

+1 on the 12. Good coverage and a variety of pitching options.

I have the 9 and the 12 and, based on my experience, I don't think I'd recommend one to a friend. My 9 leaked after being used just a couple of times -- the waterproof coating seems to have "delaminated" or failed somehow. Kelty said send it back to them, so I did. They sent it right back to me, saying it had been used too long to be warranted!

My 12 has also only been used a couple of times. It works fine. It stood up to some very strong winds and a couple of days of all-day drizzle on it's second outing last fall in the Adirondacks. The multiple cat cuts make the tarp attractive when pitched and very resistant to flapping and wind damage. Plenty of tie-out loops make it easy to get set up.

If I hadn't had the bad experience with the 9 (and Kelty's customer service), I would be happy with the 16, other than its weight and bulk.

For another 30 or 40 dollars, you can get a silnylon tarp that is far lighter and packs down much smaller.

    Take it easy,

Just got my Kelty Noah 12x12 and all I gotta say is that I'm more than happy with the coverage. Just set it up in my room and holy cow it is a lot of room for how little it weighs I also set mine up with my ENO doublenest. Works perfect.

Noah's Tarp 12x12 for ENO doublenest?

I use the Noah12 with my DN. Great coverage and you can close the ends off pretty well to make doors. I may have pictures, will take a look and post them up if I do.

+1 to the Noah 12. works well just a little bulky in the pack.

Sucks REI doesn't have more tarp options.
