OK, so far I'm thinking of heading out to the island I'm the early afternoon on Friday from a local marina in St. James City (I will check on parking). Do some nighttime fishing, lounging, island exploring, etc. Head back to the main island early on Sunday morning. This is a very primitive island with no water or anything so everything will have to be brought.
If anyone wants to go but doesn't have a vessel let me know. My buddy runs a fishing charter and can ferry groups for a small fee if we set it up ahead of time.
Please bear with me as I'm new to this forum and to hammock camping, if there's something that I'm overlooking or not mentioning let me know. I will post pictures after my recon trip to make sure it is adequate for hammock camping.
Edit: a redundant word

Check to see if we can have open fires or if need to have a grill of sorts.
Also, is there wood on the island or bring our own. I'll guess due to the small island, safer to bring your own (be prepared and all that).
Also, check on how many trees are viable for hanging. If not too many, a ferry may not be needed, or if many trees, then a ferry...
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
