    Test Time!

Thanks to Warbonnet Outdoors, I'm able to test my gear out tonight before heading out on a weekend trip tomorrow!

It's supposed to get into the mid 30's here, but I have heard great things about the KAQ Jarbridge in that range... Though my SB "should work" according to my step father (I desperately need a TQ next lol)

Warm socks, long johns, wool cap, fleece pullover, & my Nook. Wish me luck!

I also use a BB with a Jarbrige UQ. Did you get the 1 Season or 3 Season ?
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

3 season. I've read that it's labeled for 32°, but that that's a modest temp range. We shall see!

Woke up at 530 with temps around 35° and I've gotta chalk this up as a success! I can't ever remember a night on the ground where I slept soundly, I usually wake up every 30 minutes to roll around. Not so in a hammock
5 solid hours & only awoken from a bird flying into my tarp!

Temp wise, I never felt cold, in fact I had to roll up my pant legs & pullover sleeves. I imagine dipping below freezing is very doable.

My only complaint (there's got to be one, right?) was with my UQ. It was warm when in place, but it took me over an hour of struggling to get it to stay where I needed it, & even then I feared moving or it'd slip off. I chalked it up as being a fat-body & figured I'd invest in some "triangle thingies"... Until this morning! I had read to" really crank down" on it... I just tightened both ends up & now feel like I'm in a cocoon, problem solved! I was worried I'd rip/tear something in the dark, looks like I just needed to go for it!

Thanks! I honestly would have frozen if not for all the great advice on this forum. I've still got a lot to learn about hanging, but at least now some of it will be firsthand!

On a side note, has anyone ever heard of a Krill light? They resemble a glow stick, but are powered by 2 AA batteries. I found one in Iraq a while back but couldn't find a use for it. I used it as a ridgeline light last night and they seem to do the trick! Not so bright that you blind yourself, but enough to see everything in the hammock
