Awesome, but you should be wearing a helmet.

Seriously though, when you ride by yourself (especially in the cold) even a minor bonk can ruin your day. I mountain bike a lot, and granted it's a lot more technical than what you show, but my fear is getting knocked out and waking up cold, hungry and confused several hours later... Unlikely but it can happen. It's worth it to me to just wear a helmet.

You sound like my wife. Lol. I hear ya you are right I happened to buy 2 of them when I bought the bikes but in the cold I can't stand it with a tuke on. My balding head needs insulation. In warm weather I will. Cheers and thanks for taking the time to watch.

Believe me, I know. I spent my whole childhood riding out of sight with a helmet on and ditching it in a bush around the corner... I hate helmets, but when I'm on uneven terrain, by myself it's a no brainer. Seriously, think about it; if you got knocked out in that cold weather you'd wake up (if you're lucky) already hypothermic and likely too far gone to do anything about it... Serious stuff.

As for staying warm, I cut the sleeves off t-shirts and wear them under my helmet when I ride. I pack a few so that when I soak one in sweat I can swap it out to dry. As long as I'm moving they keep me plenty warm in cold weather. If I stop I put a hat on.

I'm 26 and a product of the 'extreme sports age' so believe me it hurts for me to be online chastising people about helmets...
