Question I am going to go with a continues ridgeline on my tarp. It is a wilderness logic big daddy. I was looking to see if anyone can provide information on a good length to use. I really don't want to carry alot of extra line on the tarp but then again not to come up short either when hanging.
30' has worked well for me, although I have come close to the end of the line a couple of times.

30' seems standard, but I've run short using that a couple times too. Now I order them 35' or 40' or carry an amsteel dogbone or two to lengthen lines as needed. Either way, that type of line is very light weight.

I have 30'. Thought it was too short last hang, but it turned out I had 2/3 of my extra line on one side. Once I corrected that I was good.
I like the idea of Amsteel dog bones. I have eyes on the ends of my line. So, I'm wondering if a couple more lengths of lash-it with eyes so I can lark's head might be easier.
As other have said, a 30' can run a bit short on occasion but I like that length for the less tangle factor. However I always carry an extra 10' piece of zing-it for general utility purposes, which I can extend my ridgeline with if needed.

Thanks for the info. I will be outfitting it as soon as the rain ends here in NC. I Plan to attach it to the ridgeline via prussic for easy adjustment. As always the hammock forum family is here for everyone.
If the prussic doesn't work for you try a Klemheist. Individual results seem to vary with those two.
