First time Hammock buyer need some input

Greetings all, Im new to the forums and I stumbled across the forums while surfing the interwebs. Im interested in buying a hammock for the spring/summer for backpacking/hiking and im wandering what would be the best hammock to go with for a beginner. Im wanting to use a tarp for my roof above my hammock to keep the rain off me. Im wanting to spend no more than 50$ or so seeing as I already just spent about 400$ on camping gear for the summer. I was looking at this hammock I found on amazon and wanted to know your opinion on it as well, http://www.amazon.com/Travel-Hammock...f=pd_sbs_sg_41

    Thanks

    Shawn

I bought one of those hammocks last year on Fathers Day. I like mine, but the only drawback is no bug net for summer camping. Welcome to the forum.

Skeeter Beeter Pro has bug net... There is no tarp with that unit. REI is no longer offering the ABES it appears.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

The Hammock Info says it has an "Attached NO-SEE-UM mosquito net mesh" wouldnt that be good enough for the bugs in the summer? and also ive already purchased 2 tarps for the summer and 8x10 tarp and one of smaller size I can use either for a tarp shelter as well, along with my new eureka spitfire tent, and now im wanting a hammock so ill have 3 options for the summer.

So Shawn, are you saying you already have a tarp?

A number of folks use the Skeeter Beeter Pro here and most like it. You would need to do something for a tarp and you would need some kind of bottom insulation. You may or may not be able to use a pad that you already have.

Yes I have a blue foam pad that I planned on using for my underside, also how is condensation from hammock camping in the spring/summer? I dont wanna wake up with me and my sleeping bag soaked, is it unavoidable? or are there ways to prevent it.

I'm sure others will chime in with more exerienced answers, but for me I wake up feeling much "drier" in my hammock. My ccf does sweat me a little if I lay directly on it (as it does in my tent as well). Overall waking up not feeling wet is one of my favorite things about my hammock.

Condensation is not a problem I have had.
