Help me choose my first

What strap system should I go with? I have a ton of 7/64 Amsteel here at the house from a different project.

Since this is your first hammock I'd go with the adjustable webbing suspension offered. It will be easier to adjust to get the perfect hang. If weight is a concern then you could always make some whoopies slings with that amsteel you have and swap them out after the fact.

I was considering the Blackbird. Glad I got some confirmation from the group. I'll post pics when I get it.

You won't regret it, once I got my Blackbird I have foresaken all my other hammocks...still have them, but they are in the back of the gear closet now.
