    Niteize belt clips

i have wanted to have a way to have a few things easy to reach while hiking (as on the pack's belt & shoulder straps) but be able to easily un-attach them to clip to the hammock supports or the edge hem of the hammock when hanging out in camp.
i have thought about some type of clip for a while (i remember having a metal military belt clip).
then i noticed the clips on the niteize holders. so i emailed them about the possibility of getting a few to try out on some DTY projects. they emailed back & asked which ones i was interested in because there are several types.
i asked about trying two each of three different versions & today they arrived... just a few days after the last email.

I'm not sure just how you plan on using these things yet. So some pics will help when you get a couple of them in service.

What kind of attachment system do you have in mind to mate the "wings" on the clips with a pouch or water bottle holder or whatever?

NiteIze does make some really cool stuff! I love my Figure 9 gizmos!

I used the Figure 9 gizmos on my last trip and they worked well.

i have grouped together some of the stuff that i may want to have handy as i hike at times.
it's not likely that i'll have all these things up front at the same time, but these are the things that i sometimes like to have at hand & the groups that i put them into, followed by where they might ride.

    1) mini LED... on lanyard around neck.

    2) knife, mini bic... in front pockets.

    3) chapstick, soap, mini vile w/ advil... in mini stuff sack in front pocket.

    4) note paper, pen, compass, whistle... in cut off soft soap bottle.

    5) trail food & trash... in small belt bag.

    6) digital camera... in cut off soft soap bottle.

    7) map... still working on the best way to have that accessible, but out of the way.

i'm thinking of having groups 4, 5, & 6 attached w/ clips. then in camp they can be made more easily accessible by clipping them to the hammock side, ridge line, or support webbing.

also, on the storage underneath both ends of the hammock, i'm going to try attaching it at three points... first to the hammock end (at the whipping), and then on both sides using clips.

I use a Butt pack that I like very much. I wear it in the back and spin it around when I need food, map, hand sanitizer, ibuprofen, bug spray, car keys, GPS, knife, or whatever else I may be packing away.
