new guy from ontario! hello! total newb here!

always thought the idea of hangin in a hammock to be awesome!
only been in one a handful of times...started watching youtube videos to figure out how to make a stand in my yard, (no trees), and that led me here and to the idea of hammock camping and looks like theres tons of info, so looking forward to learning some stuff, and hopefully make my own setup!
also, not a little guy! tippin the scales at close to 290...
can the ropes hold? i hope so!!!

The ropes can definitely hold. Heavier folks than that hang all the time.

Hello and welcome pickuptruck from Huntsville, Ontario.

Like you, I'm new to hanging, but I already feel like I've got a handle on things thanks to the many helpful people on this forum. I'm going on my first overnighter in the bush tomorrow in fact.

    Cheers,
    - Martin

    Hey PickUpTruck,

Welcome from the Big Smoke in Toronto. I'm also a rather "big" fella and the Amsteel suspension lines are really strong. Your hammock will rip long before you suspension.

As Bubba already mentioned, there's a pretty good group of hangers here in Ontario. If you're interested in coming out to a hang, subscribe the EGL notification thread for updates.
