Shock Cord for my Grizz Beak

I am soon to be the proud owner of a pair of grizz beaks in the near future! In preparing to rig them I started to look for shock cord. My question is....is there any place to buy shock cord that is by the foot or in reasonable lengths? I have only seen small pieces and 100' rolls. If no other ideas on where to buy by the foot...how about some suggestions on what to do with 75' of extra shock cord.
    Thanks all!

Most fabric shops sell lightweight (sub 1/8") stuff by the yard.

My local Joann's has it, but it's white... works great.

I suppose you could sell the extra on the For Sale forum, but no need to go that route.

Alternative to what's been posted there is a product called "Yankz!" That is made for shoes, but happens to be the smallest shockcord I can find anywhere (1/16") and its reflective. One package would probably do for one beak, but if you contact the company they will send you longer pieces. Just another option.

You should also check your local outdoor gear stores. At least in my area, EMS and REI both have shock cord by the foot in the climbing section. So does Blue Mountain Sports.

It may not be the cheapest, but it saves having to buy a roll, or pay shipping. Just another option.

Great ideas all, many thanks. I looked local prior to my post, but with no luck (I didn't try the fabric store). My beaks are on the way, they shipped today! Worst case, I will be giving shock cord as Christmas gifts.
