Can't find it right now, but some review said there was parking for three cars on the northbound side of Rt. 563 (other side of road from your drop-in).

    Nevermind, here it is:

Ha! I actually bookmarked that same page earlier today, but can't see anything of the sort on satellite view. Guess I'll just go there and see where I can safely park. Thanks.

    Hah!

Couldn't resist poking fun. That's the thing about reading via either tapatalk, or through the New Post tab - sometimes you lose track of where the thread your reading even is posted.

Mini trip report: Don't try to do Speedwell to Hawkin Bridge on the Wading River unless you want to portage a minimum of 8-9 times around fallen trees (and just barely squeeze under another 5-7...and I mean literally craw into your kayak as far as you can so you can float under). I really hope Mick's will get out there sometime soon and cut those trees down! Good trip besides all that (even with a dunk in the cold water).

Yeah folks aren't keeping up many of the rivers these days.

I hear ya, for the money that Mick's makes every year they reall dont put much back into maintaing.
From what i have read on here it looks like those jersey boys like ss and rd and that crew spend more time working on clearing out the waterways than anyone else and Mick really should.

Hey, we've had a ton of campfire discussions on starting a spring chainsaw community service project on some Pine Barrens rivers and branches. However, I think it is a lot of work (dangerous, I might add), and one might need permits. Legally, it's kinda vague if you're allowed to do that kinda stuff on your own, or if you need sanction from the powers that be.

No chainsaws allowed on live or dead trees, standing or fallen.

When I asked informally the response was "why would I care" from a Ranger.

    Bow saws would work.

I spent years helping with creek maintenance in our community, have saws, straps, rope and chainsaw. Also a flat bottom boat for hauling gear snd working. Bottom line, you get in the water to do a lot of the work. All of this was 30 years ago. Nowadays, who knows, probably need to be licensed, insured and permitted as you said.
