    Hammock Therapy - Knee Injury

The ongoing debate between my mind and my body as to how old I actually am was partially resolved this weekend on a whitewater canoe trip. After the river finished playing pinball with me on the rocks, I was struggling to get my canoe to the bank to unswamp it when I felt my knee pop.

Not sure exactly what I have done yet, but I know I can't lay in the bed because the lateral pressure as I roll in my sleep caused great pain. I went to the spare room where the Eno Dbl is hung on the Ikea stand. The hammock supports my whole leg length without bending it or twisting, and we all know that entire nights spent in a hammock without changing position are pretty common.

Have now had 2 full nights rest and the knee is much better, but I better go a few more weeks just to be sure.

Anybody else have a similar story?

That's great, I'll have to remember that the next time my knee starts giving me trouble.

From time to time I would pull my lower back and the bed would only make it worse. I found that a few nights to a week in the hammock I would heal right up (Thank the Lord). You got to love hammock therapy

Trying to sleep on a bed is out of the question for me, hips and shoulders can't take it. It is the hammock every night for me now, best therapy ever.

Re: Hammock Therapy - Knee Injury

I have had my acl replaced and medial meniscus removed in both knees so I know of your pain.

I never slept in a hammock but always found it easier/less painful to sleep with a pillow under the injured knee and between my legs, that way no matter which way I rolled my knee would be supported and would have cushion between my legs.

Keep that knee moving but don't overdo it amd good luck with your recovery.
