    Old man trying something new

Hello everyone, been a tent camper longer than many of you are old and also spent years using lightweight tarps since I spent over 15 years in mountain SAR but after retiring and moving to the South the bugs are murder in a tarp..... Going to give the hammocks a try for going light on weekend outings and will probably be buying a Clark TX-150 later this week.

Welcome from SW Va, I haven't looked back (to tents) since I converted to hammock and spent my first night in one.

I still have a couple of tents for my boys (ages 8 and 4) to use should they decide to tag along on a woodland adventure one day. Although I have enough hammocks to go around as well.

It took me forever to figure out that hammocks were the way to go. Never going back to ground!

Welcome to HF from Athens. Lots of great info here on the site. You'll like the Clark, they make a great hammock.

    Welcome from NE Florida!

I wasn't old but I was injured, tent camping was out. Originally went with camper, but First World Camping just isn't all that attractive anymore...then husband convinced me to go to the 2nd Annual Florida Hang, and I've been his not-so-practiced-but-always-willing hammock-hiking partner since.

So much so that we're in process of becoming full-time hammockers, installing hammocks in the bedroom at home...

Welcome from Ball Ground. I have the nx 250, use it every night, home or away, love it. NO BUGS! If you are around 6 ft. and 200 or more, you might benefit from the extra room. As an aside, the supplied suspension, while adequate, isn't easy to fine tune/adjust. The remedy is easy as pie using amsteel fixed loops and straps, or whoopie slings. GO MAN, this should be a pleasant experience for you. If I can answer any questions for you just ask.
