NH - White Mountains - looking for hang sites

Hello!

Heading to Franconia notch next Friday to do a week long north bound AT section. Ending up at Rt 2 past gorham.

Looking for good hang sites (I know it will be tough) through this section. We are doing the Franconia and presidential ranges and carter- mahoussic.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

The top half of the mountains are going to be conifers and small, compact ones at that. (The presidentials & franconia ridge is above the tree line). So the bottom half is where your going to find deciduous trees. It's pot luck whether or not there is understory. I don't tend to keep a tight schedule, so if it's later in the day and I see a nice spot, I'll stop for the night. Don't head to the higher elevations late in the day. Also, your water sources are going to be in the lower half of the elevations.
