    VIDEO: Paddling in the Adirondacks

I don't know why it took me so long to get this put together but it was one of those projects that I just had a hard time getting some traction on.
Anyway last summer my wife and I met my buddy John out in the Adirondacks. We stayed a night in a hotel then took all the gear to the put-in on Long Lake, shuttled one car back to Tupper Lack the finally back to Long Lake and got on the water.

To be honest we did more camping than paddling but I think it was about 50 miles that we actually covered. All in all it was a great trip, much of the beauty of the area is not very well conveyed by the video. I wish we'd have had some extra time to see some of the cool little resort towns and museums etc.

    Good luck,

Very nice video, Red. The scenery looked wonderful.
In some places it looked like you were really cruising along.

And good choice on the music.

Nice one! I have done most of that trip depending one where you went in and out. It is one of the best ones to point folks at. If one has more time one can turn up the Cold River and look for the last Adirondack hermit's digs.

I remember the portage at the falls. About half way across we got off the trail to let a half dozen or so sweet young things double teaming Grummans trot past. That is also part of the 90 mile race from Old Forge to Lake Placid.

    VIDEO: Paddling in the Adirondacks

Excellent video. My scout troop covered that exact trip in August of '12. Except we did it in 7 days. What a beautiful area. Thanks for bringin up memories on that trip. The lower falls right after the portage we were able to pull several bass out of there.

Thanks for the trip Red. Some of the best trips are those without a strict itinerary.
