Welcome to the forums, from Ohio. There are many of us women here and all of the guys are very respectful on group hangs. This is a varied good group of people, with all sexes, colors, believes, education levels, ages, and on, and on, and on.

Side note: if you're using the Eno Slap Straps, you may want to ditch those suckers. They stretch something fierce and just aren't worth the other issues they have too....but hang onto them until you've got something else. I also agree with Detail Man and any tarp is better than no tarp, until you get to that point of moving up.

Ditto... Pick up a cheap poly tarp from Walmart to start, then save your change to upgrade...don't go the route of going for a cheap "good" tarp as they don't really exist. You can get a good quality tarp for around 80 - 90, the main draw back to the poly (blue) tarps is the weight and bulk but they definitely will keep you dry.

HI! I am female too and quite new to hammocking!! I got the Chinook 12 x 9.6 tarp because it was less expensive but still seemed to get decent reviews on this forum. I used it once in the rain and it worked OK. I need to set it up better. It is big though, so I get alot of coverage. I am from Pennsylvania, and I was just thinking Today ... I wonder how many females are hammocking?!!

    Nice to meet you!!!!

If you are a girl, then why the Eagle Scout 2013 handle?
Since only guys can be Eagle Scouts?
