Add the (in) to the front of "famous" and you're on the right track...

Seriously, though, yes, that is. Two of 'em, placed in a "T" formation, makes for enough under insulation to get most folks down into the 40s.

    Hope it helps!

Is this the blue walmart pad?

Walmart has 2 different blue pads. One is pretty rigid/stiff. The other is pretty soft and pliable. That looks like the soft one. I believe the soft one is around $15 while the stiff one is about $6-7.

The stiff one can be made less so with slits through the skin. Be sure you control the depth of the cut, say by firmly squeezing the tip of the blade between fingers as stops. Don't cut to the edge, so that the full strength of full thickness remains, and the crack I'm suggesting you create stops well before that edge. (You could even be fancy and burn a round hole at the end of the cut, but that is getting a bit much lipstick on the pig.

That's sure to void any warrantee, and likely shorten the life; but it makes mine more conformable and more comfortable.

Thanks everyone I was going to buy one of these insulite pads from Lawson equipment, but they are out of stock. I need a pad before 5-12 so I thought I would just get a cheap walmart pad in the interim. 2-Foam-Pad-p952.html[/URL] from Lawson equipment, but they are out of stock. Fire Lawson an email, he may sell you one, from what his newsletter said he was waiting for all his old stock to sell before he puts new stock up.

I did email him last week and he said he could get me one. I responded saying i would like to buy one. I didn't hear back from him so I emailed again and still no response. I'm not upset or anything I just need to make sure I have some insulation before this weekend.

The CCF Blue will do, if Lawson can't come through, and you can pick a couple up on the way to the trailhead, if the other doesn't make it.

I would strongly suggest buying the soft pad which has (for lack of a better word) dimples on one side.
