Just ordered an Exped Asym
Can't wait to test it out. Couldn't pass up the deal on the HH website! In addition to the features of the Exped Asym, I also get the Hex Fly and Snakeskins for free! That's a great deal.
Guess I'm trying to buy them all.
I need another hammock like I need another hole in the head. My stable consists of a TrekLight Double, an ENO Single, Grand Trunk SBPro, a Blackbird, and now the HH Exped Asym.
I'll post my first impressions when it arrives.
Do you get both tarps, or just the hex? If just the hex, its not that much of a better deal than before as you can sub the hex for the asym tarp for free. Its also the heavy PU coated tarp, not the light silnylon one.Originally Posted by Alan

Most people convert FROM the HH to a Blackbird... since Alan has a BB already, I'll be really surprised if he converts TO a HH
according to the HH website the Hex is in addition to the satock tarp that comes with the unit. I also scored the free trap when I bought my super shelter. However I recieved an e-mail telling me that demand had exceeded expectation and the tarp would be shipped wintin the month. I figure I'll be wanting my HH Hex winter tarp for a while yet anyway so I'm not overly concerned about it.

I got the very same email Ramblinrev. I ordered the supershelter and I went to a bigger snakeskin (4 instead of 3) to see if supershelter (without padding) will fit with a larger snake skin.
I bet it takes awhile for the hex to come in, but it was worth it for me. Now we'll see if this SS can deliver on "some" warmth. I'm sure it will need to be tweaked.
From what I understand the Hex comes ALONG with the original fly as well.

There are several of us planning a trip to a local state park the first weekend in March, and the BB + SnugFit will be my hammock & insulation of choice for the trip...no contest!
An Expedition with a Sportsman's Guide 9x9 is my truck/hunting hammock. I plan to get the zipper mod done to it. If I had to live in a hammock for six months that would be the one.

I like the SG 9x9 but every time I go to the website, it shows that it's sold out. Argh!
I'm surprised it's still even on the website. Scuttlebutt is that it was discontinued about a year or so ago.
