Hammock camping In Alabama on the Beach, need advise

My family is wanting to go to Alabama Gulf Shores area this summer, (June) and we want to stay on the beach but also hammock camp. We will be bringing a T&*t just-in-case my wife can't hang. We want car camping with in a park, State or otherwise. My wife demanded blue water and clean bathrooms. Any suggestions on which parks are better or worse? Thanks in advance.

Have you seen the TurtleDog Stand? It'll work for beach camping; I'm actually building one this coming week so as to be able to hang on the beach at Ft. Clinch next month while the wife uses her new t**t.

    Hope it helps!

Fort Pickens in Pensacola is the closest thing I can think of for what you described..
I honestly can't think of a place that the camping is closer to the beach in that area (a few hundred yards from the Gulf on the back side of the peninsula near the bay).

There is Gulf State park right in Gulf Shores /Orange Beach but the camping is on a lagoon across the road from the beach..

If you are feeling adventurous you can camp out at Fort McRee; but there are now bathrooms or trees and I have heard that if you hike down to the end that its "clothing optional".
Big lagoon is one of the best camping areas I have been to on the gulf but again its on the back side of the bay and closer to Pensacola.
    Hope this helps

FLRider, I have thought about the stands, may try that route if I can't find anything tree worthy. I think I will make one next weekend and try it out.

Thanks Clankbang, I looked into Ft. Pickens and they don't have two sites next to each other for the time we want to go, but Big Lagoon does. And I think the family will enjoy the kayaking in the lagoon. Maybe I can finally talk my wife into letting me squeeze a kayak out of the budget!

If you go about another hour east there are many more options..
In the Fort Walton => Panama City area...

    I'm sure there are more..
Still Big lagoon is my #1 Pick but its a drive to the beach because you need to go around the bay.
The beach at Fort McRee isn't too far (10 min give or take). but is really nice (not crowded).
There are alot more things to do for the family (go karts ect.) in Gulf Shores and Destin areas than around big lagoon.
    Great Fishing though..
