I was amazed the first time I saw the deer on Hunting Island--they are about the size of german shephards. We feed them carrots and old apples. Ranger warned us about their ticks. Jealous of your hanging spot. Enjoy.
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!
That is such a great place and holds many memories for us. We used to go every year for about 6 years as the kids were growing up and had fun being mom and dad. Now with 14 & 15 year olds mom and dad aren't as cool as their friends and all the electronics of today. We exclusively camped with our travel trailer before hammocking and have stayed on the beach side about 50 feet away from the water at high tide in a site that's long since washed away and on the back side in the 100s. My daughter learned to ride a bike there going back and forth to the campground store for ice cream. We've seen the turtles come in and lay eggs and have seen the babies hatch out and crawl to the ocean. We found out first sharks tooth here. We've thought about going back and taking our hammocks and saving on gas not pulling a camper.we haven't been in about 5 years so this is making me envious of your visit. Have some shrimp& flounder at the Shrimp Shack for us. Enjoy your visit.
