I started putting together my first underquilt today, and as I was cutting and sewing, I wondered how many other crazy hammock addicts had projects in the works this weekend too. What are you building?

I am trying my hand at making some soft shackles. Learning the proper knot will be the biggest challenge. Gotta hand it to ya, I've made most everything so far, except the quilts. I just haven't worked up the guts to try that one yet. Good luck and enjoy!!!Bush
I am making a pair of tree straps. My backyard trees, both almost 1m (about 37-38 inches) diameter, are too big for the straps I bought to try out my first hammock.
I'm finishing up my new Grizz-bridge/ridgerunner inspired hybrid hammock, and after that will be working on a 3 season UQ for it.
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )
Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

Just completed an Apex UQ, material is on order to make a down TQ as well as a top cover for my wbbb.
Bought the stuff to make a sporran for my new kilt... Still laying it out in ny mind until I get time to actually do it... Other than that fixing windows from the baseball sized hail we got Friday night... And tying paracord stuff for some people...
Live, Laugh, Love, if that doesn't work. Load, Aim and Fire, repeat as necessary...
Buy, Try, Learn, Repeat
I received whoopie hooks the other day so I revamped my suspension last night, miggt add panel pulls to the winter tarp I made tonight, might make some pot cosies... all of this is procrastination, I should be working on my backpack.
Finishing up my jcpenny tqs. Yes!
I am stoked! 1lb 2 oz. Awesome! Thanks for sharing.
As a wise man once said "If woman don't find you handsome at least they'll find you handy." Hang in there.
Was up until midnight last night - got the baffles sewn to the inside layer. About to tackle the outside layer. If all goes well, I'll have an UQ in a couple hours
Yesterday I finished up the silnylon tarp I sewed this week by sealing the seams, put together a couple soft shackles, made an adjustable ridgeline, and made a few stuff sacks that turned out very well. I didn't have cord locks so I used a small length of lash-it and made put a prusik knot over the shock cord and I don't think I even want to replace them with real cord locks.
Today it is time to wash my hammock. I have now had it for over 10 years so I think it is ready for its first bath. I am going to remove its suspension and replace it with continuous loops for hanging a whoopie sling getting rid of the heavy steel s-hooks. I was going to do it last night but you better believe the knots that it came with are tight after 100s of nights sleeping on them. I might order more dyneema line in fun sizes too. There are just too many fun things to make!
