    WTB: Under Quilt by 5/15

I'm supposed to leave on 5/15 for a motorcycle camping trip in Hampton, TN. I didn't realize how cool it was going to be, and I'm thinking I'll likely need an underquilt. Something rated for 40* or 20* will work, not really needing anything more insulated than that. Pack size and weight aren't essential because it'll be loaded on a bike, not my back. Let me know what you have.

    I'm 6'4" and use a WBBB DL 1.7.

Have you seen the no-sew poncho liner underquilt instructions (scroll down to post #7 for the updated instructions)? That can be made for ~$25 to ~$45, depending on what your local Army/Navy store charges for a liner.

Should be good to the ~45* range...don't know if that'll work for you, but it's available with an half-hour's worth of work. Weight is roughly a pound and an half, but it's fairly bulky.

    Hope it helps!

If you don't find one used, the Jacks always (or darn close to it) have their quilts in-stock. Every order I've made from them has either shipped the same day as the order, or the next day.

Doesn't hurt that their quilts don't suck either.
    Trust nobody!

I would email some of the vendors that make synthetic underquilts and see if anyone has one in stock that they can ship today or tomorrow. That will have a good chance of making it by Wednesday.

You're the man! Iv'e gotta try that. Amazon has got them for <$40 and I can get free 2 day shipping with prime. That should work perfectly for this trip.

In the meantime I'll save up for a long and low temp UQ.

No problem. As long as weight and bulk aren't issues, those're great. But, weight and bulk have become issues for me over the last year or so. So...be aware that it might be a sunk cost at some point.
