Living so close to beautiful Buck Lake is wonderful! This past weekend myself, theflb, Special K, lilricky, and some non-hammock forum friends and family spent a wonderful weekend at Buck Lake. The first day and 2 nights it rained on us pretty good, but Saturday and Sunday were beautiful. We had a lot of fun kayaking, canoeing, playing games, fishing, hiking, and just talking. We had an excellent fish fry courtesy of my neighbor who came out and caught fish. This included a 5 lb bass. For the FL4 hang, someone needs to bring the fishing pole! We were able to convince Special K's wife and a friend to sleep overnight in a hammock for the first time. They liked it! I think the most memorable part of the whole trip (besides my first DO upside down pineapple cake haha!) was the amazing light show courtesy of the heat lightning. We were all so convinced it wasn't heat lightning but an alien invasion or the end of civilization as we know it. We all jumped in a SUV and drove up the forest road until we came to a clearing, and sure enough, we saw the best spectacle of lights. It was definitely a weekend of fun and memories.
