    Welcome Dwilliams,

From another NC'er in the Smokies Mountains !
    God bless! Brent

What sets a canoeing expedition apart is that it purifies you more rapidly and inescapably than any other travel. Travel a thousand miles by train and you are a brute; pedal five hundred on a bicycle and you remain basically a bourgeois; paddle a hundred in a canoe and you are already a child of nature.

Greetings from SW PA, soon to be a NC'er myself should be relocating in the coming month. My wife starts her new job at Duke on the third of June. I have to tie up the loose ends at home and find a suitable domicile. Then will be joining her ASAP.
looking forward to meeting some of the locals and getting a good tour of the local trails.

Not to hijack your thread, but I am looking for suggestions for a good area to relocate somewhere between Clayton and Durham. Preferable not city life I like some greenery and some trees would be great. Also something in a good school district. Hope that's not asking for too much.
    Thanks for any input

Clayton is really nice and still has areas that are considered "in the country" I do not know the area very well, so my experience is limited to Clayton (used to have family who lived there).

I apolize for interrupting the thread, but I would definitely look for something north of Wade Ave, from exit 287 on Hwy 40 north, next year they will have a major road construction of 11 miles on 40. The drive is bad enough the way it is. Sorry again for the interrupt.

The picture was taken at warrior creek camp ground west of wilkesboro. Not very primitive but thought it would be a good place to test everything out I packed everything I used in my pack except the beer of course. More trips are being planned for the near future.
