    WBBB to Nano-7?

I really love my Blackbird ... it's the best hammock I've had so far.

However, the Nano-7 is a significant weight and space savings and I'm VERY much an insane ultralight backpacker so I'm constantly revisiting my gear decisions.

Has anyone migrated from the WBBB? What are your thoughts?

Is the Nano-7 still considered the most light weight?

What do you do about a bug net?

If a removable bug net actually works it has other advantages as well. Specifically, you can go to ground and take your bug net with you. This could work well in situations where there are literally NO trees around (like getting stuck at high elevation).

    Thoughts?

    Some here are biased

in favor of the BIAS [butt in a sling] hammocks over the Nano. Find threads in the mfg forum for their hammocks, and a recent thread, in particular, comparing on of the UL BIAS offerings to the Nano 7.

Not strictly helpful, I know, since you already have a UL hammock. But, you might want a different one.

I would guess that your WBBB is one of the less-stiff ones, or that you are yourself UL, if you can easily move from it the Nano 7 and immediately adapt.

I second the BIAS WW Micro.
Afoot and light-hearted, I take to the open road,
Healthy, free, the world before me,
The long brown path before me, leading wherever I choose.

Nano 7 is my spare hammock. Use it as a gear hammock on longer trips with the family in case someone has a hammock failure. WBBB has bug netting Nano 7 does not. So you will still have to get something to use if bugs are an issue. Personally i think it's Better to go WBBB to Darien UL if weight is concerned.

I have a WBBB, a Nano 7 and a BIAS WW and I'd choose the BIAS over the Nano. The BIAS is bigger and and I find less stretchy. You could use use a half bugnet to save weight. Consider the Darien UL as mentioned.
