    Pole Mod

Well went by the sporting goods store and bought some cheap fibergalss tent poles to play around with a pole mod. Actually bought a set from HalfAstronomical but have been waiting on them to arrive for two weeks and got antsy. So I have decided I will play around with these until the day those accidently decide to make it to my door. Maybe by then I will have the hang of how I want to connect them. Any suggestions and what not are welcome.

    Re: Pole Mod

There is a thread around here about a non permanent pole mod... I'll see if I can find it...

Try that and see what you think...

    Thank you sir.

Actually that is different than the mod I am thinking on. I am thinking of using the pull outs already on the superfly. Though that would work as well.

    Re: Pole Mod

So tour doing an external pole mod then? That's pretty straight forward... String tied to tie out, other end tied to pole... Tighten as needed...

Kinda what I figured but I also thought of doing a pin like they put on the corners of those ground dweller things. Too scary to have on a tarp? Note at this time we do more car camping than anything else due to age of my cub scouts.

You'll like the external poles. Well I do. I got the same set from halfastronomical, they're great!

In the thread below, I posted info on my external pole mod, with links to several other threads from which I borrowed the idea.

Man oh man do I love them, they sure beat the week set I was working on. And man that tarp spread. Could park my motorcycle in there with my hammock. Well almost.

Thank you. Those links will help along with the first link for doing my wifes's tarp now that mine is done.
