Hey, I'm looking for some advise on which tarp I should get. I'm having a hard time deciding if I should spend the extra money for a hammock gear cubin fiber with doors or to spend a little less money and get a superfly. Any advise and thoughts would be appreciated!

I love the Superfly and have nothing bad to say about it... To me the 8-10 oz isn't worth the price tag of the Cuben... But to some people it is... That's really a decision you have to make... Is the weight that important or would you rather have the extra money for other gear, like a new pack that may save more than 8-10oz...

If you car camp none of this matters, but assuming you're a backpacker, take a look at your whole gear pile as Brute said. Where can you get the biggest bang for your buck to lighten up the total weight.
If you have a frameless pack and down quilts, the cuben fiber tarp may be the next logical step. (I have a camo cuben 4 season HammockGear and I'm in love with it).
On the other hand if you have a 1970's canvas pack and synthetic sleeping bags, a silnylon tarp along with replacing some other heavy gear would be money better spent.

I agree with MAD777; totally depends on how you intend to use it.
Personally, I don't worry about cuben when dealing with my large winter tarps; the gear weight is already substantial due to the winter gear, so a handful of ounces doesn't bother me at all. Plus, when the snow is deep I'm not looking for big miles anyway.
When the rest of the lightweight gear comes out of the gear room, so do the cuben tarps. I spend the money where it will have the most relevant impact. So for me, cuben is nice weather/big mile gear. Sil fills the winter/little mile roll just fine...for me.

The HG Winter Palace is my favorite piece of gear - one tarp for all seasons. Doesn't sag or need to be tensioned like silnylon when wet. It's always 8.5 ounces - can't beat that.
I previously owned the HG Standard Cuben fiber tarp with doors. I just didn't feel it was a true four-season tarp, which is why I upgraded to the Winter Palace.
I'm thinking that it may be time to part with my MLD cuben fiber hex tarp. PM me if interested.
