Small DIY Accessories - Where to buy in person?

    Hello everybody,

I live in a decent sized city (KC), and was wondering if anyone would happen to know what type of store might sell small BIY accessories like tension locks, D-rings, etc...

I couldn't really think of anything off the top of my head - does anyone know of where I might be able to find things like that, and would they be comparable to prices online?

I'd like to be able to pick them up local, in case I think up something else I want to make, but if I can't find them/they are too expensive, I guess I'll just order a bunch extra online and keep them stashed away.

    Thanks!

I usually just order a few extra of whatever I'm buying for a project, that way I always have a growing stash of replacements/miscellaneous bits for projects. I also usually buy online, so not sure how much help that is... The Rainshed is a great place, so is Quest outfitters, so is Outdoor Wilderness Fabrics.

If you only need one or two, you might check your local backpacking/camping place. They might have a bin of replacement parts for their equipment.

It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Small DIY Accessories - Where to buy in person?

I order a dozen of everything whether I think I need it or not from www.OWFINC.com. When I order something that I know I need, I double the order. I still panic that I'm going to run out of some obscure piece of hardware.

I find somethings at Wal-Mart... Other things you can find in a sewing shop Joann has some stuff like that if you just look around... But honestly just buy it online, it's cheaper and you don't have to get all the weird looks when you shop in your underwear drinking a glass of wine

Try your local home improvement store (around the rope and hitch sections). Hardware stores have even more options.
Tag with Home if your thread is more about home hammocks. Thanks!
