    Superfly Question.

Thinking of making a DIY tarp very similar to the WB superfly.

Sorry if this has been asked before. I'm on my phone and its a little cumbersome to do searches.

    My main is question...

Does it have grosgrain along the ridgeline?

If so I was thinking this would make it easier to stitch the ridgeline rather than stitching a flat feld seam. Just stitch the two pieces of nylon together and then stitch some grosgrain over it. Seems like it would work.

Also, has anyone used grosgrain along the tarp edges? What are your thoughts.

good idea but you would still have to seal the seam, it would add durability though.maybe sew some dynaglide inside the grograin for a no stretch ridgeline......................

Yeah I figured I would still have to seal the seams.

No stretch ridgline...........that's BRILLIANT! Mind if I steal your idea?

    Superfly Question.

I think grosgrain on the edges might add some protection, but that weight would add up real fast..

My SF has grosgrain on the edges... its a few years old though. Weight difference is not terrible though.

I agree. Using grosgrain along the edges may turn into a luxury. I may not even do this.
