Does Tyvek have a right side and a wrong side??

I just finished my first attempt at a Tyvek cat-cut tarp and noticed that I reversed the material on one side - there's a smooth side and a side with dots. This kind doesn't have writing on it. Unfortunately I didn't notice until I started dyeing it and the dye (Kiwi shoe dye) soaks in differently.
Is one side more waterproof than the other?? If so, will silicone help??

    Thanks!!

Some hard structure (paper) Tyvek is coated with a sealant after printing to help lock the ink in. Other than that I don't know of there being a right & wrong side. I do know that printing on the sealant prevents the ink from adhering to the Tyvek; it will wear off quickly.

FYI: Acrylic screen printing ink is what is used to print on Tyvek. You can get small amounts of it cheaply online. If you use it beware that it's a concentrated pigment and a very small amount goes a long way.

I just used acrylic paint on my tyvek tarp. I think acrylic silk screen would have used less paint.

When used on a house Ive always noticed that the print is to the outside, probably for the reason stated above.

This has been debated 100 times, but according to the Tyvek website, I recall reading that it isn't directional.
