Stealth camping is all fun and games until you have to take a dump.
Thanks. Ill look it up.
The LT is pretty awesome.
LT = Long Trail
I am planning on doing a four day 3 night back pack with my 2 sons next week. Easy miles between camps has been the order for past hikes. Originally I was planning on using the Lye Brook trail, but understand that it was wiped out in the vicinity of the falls and isn't open yet. This is my new route:
Stratton Pond Trail to Stratton pond. 4 miles Wednesday
Long trail to Branch pond Trail\ 4.5 miles to William B Douglas shelter Thursday
Branch pond trail to Bourne Pond 3.5 miles to Bourne pond Friday
Lye brook trail to Stratton pond trail and out 7 Miles Saturday
Are all these trails open and do you think this will work.
Where did you read that the Lye Brook trail was washed out by the falls? I'm wondering if what you read was in fact the landslide (from hurricane Irene) that happened about a 1/4 mile before Lye Brook Falls on the spur trail leading to the falls...which even with the landslide is still able to be hiked.
