Sorry I know this is probably obvious to most, but I have to ask.
What is the best adjustable ridge line strength and adjustability wise. A UCR or whoopie? I have looked for information on adjustable ridge lines and see both talked about.

It all depends on personal preference really. Shear strength is going to be your best indicator, whoopies and and UCRs function very similarly, the difference being you need some sort knot or other method to keep tension on one end of the UCR bury, but that's easily remedied with a prussic knot. If you check out "The Ultimate Hang" they have a hammock calculator that gives you shear force on your suspension.

And considering UCRs and whoopies alike can keep your butt off the ground, either one will work just fine for an ARL. I used a UCR successfully till I found my sweet spot. Then I made a regular, non-adjustable ridgeline out of Lash-it.
I use a two piece ridge line made of 2.2 zing it.with1.75 for my tie outs. The 3 to one configuration is what ive found to work the best for me.
For the ucr srg rock has a good video that uses a piece of rubber tube as an anchor point . This has worked well for me in the suspension, but the 3to 1 is my tarp choice its easy and very universal.
Tie to the ring with your 2.2,go around the tree then back to the ring again.Back around the tree then wrap your line around all five times then half hitch it.This makes a mini block and tackle.
You could also go from the ring then around the tree, then tie a taut line hitch to the main line making it adjustable. good luck
Yeah hammock ridge line. Thanks for info. Just didn't want to make UCR and find it wouldn't work for some reason. Guess it time make one to find sweet spot before making a permenant one.
That's how I did it, just make sure you "milk the bury" before you climb in or it'll slip.
I use an ucr ridgeline, works great! The only functional differences for me is that with a whoopie you have to pull through twice as much length as you want to adjust because the line is doubled, this also means you have twice as much line to keep out of the hammock.
Here is fallknivens tutorial in case you haven't found it yet. https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=66163
+1. Maybe not quite such a big deal with the rl, when adjusting the suspension you could and up with it a little long. But if you use ucr suspension...
