    Thanks for the insight guys!

Goobie, sounds great. We should get together for a hike sometime. What shelter on the IAT is hammock friendly? Just hiked the Bowers/Storrs lake segment a few weekends ago. Will be doing more in the southern Kettles.

Yes, you are about an hour from Fort Atkinson. We are about 20 Minutes or so from the kettles.

My wife has a flash 18 that she uses as a day pack. It's great for stuffing some extra warmth, couple hats, and maybe some random food inside.

Not that it was asked, but recently I also bought a Flash 45. It turned out to be a fantastic little number!

    REI Flash 18, 22 Packs

Just ordered a flash 18. I'm headed to the Tetons next week and am hoping the 18 makes a good day pack. Planning on some harder day hikes and didn't want the extra 2 pounds of my Flash 60.

One more thing about the flash 18, it has a removable frame sheet (well its more like a CCF pad than a frame sheet) and it is designed to be reversible, turn it inside out and use it as a stuff sack in your pack, then as a day pack when you get there.

    REI Flash 18, 22 Packs

I have an REI Traverse 30. It's been a great daypack and has a sturdy suspension. The only gripe is that its a bit heavy... But still an amazing daypack.

I was just debating between the Flash 18 and 22. They are very similar packs. Since I already have a 30L daypack, I opted to buy the Flash 18. It's now my travel daypack - shove it in a suitcase when I'm on the road and use it as a daypack, gym bag, laundry bag, etc.
