Road Trip from TX to WA

Got my Traveler just in time for a trip from San Antonio TX up to Tacoma WA! Going to pick up a buddy in AZ then head up through Death Valley and eastern CA. Plan on hitting up Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, and Crater Lake on the way. Because I came down here without my normal ground setup, this trip back north will be my first with hanging-only gear. I'm excited to get multiple nights in a row in the hammock, and to get my system dialed in. We have four days to get from Chandler AZ to Tacoma. Please let me know if you guys know of any must-see things along the way or good spots to hang.

Sounds like a fun trip. I am crewing for a bicyclist in Raam next month. I am taking my gear, hoping to get many naps in it.

    Success!

First stop on the trip was in Death Valley CA. Not knowing anything about Death Valley, I wrongly assumed there'd be no trees there. Not so! Camped right in the park, and there was a convenient spot open with trees.

Hung in Lake Tahoe as well, but there really wasn't any doubt it would be easy to find a place. Was happy to realize that my 40 deg rated 3/4 length UQ and 40 deg TQ kept me warm enough to sleep in 32 deg weather. I wasn't comfortable, but I've slept colder.

Congrats, and I hope you have a good trip the rest of the way. Use your clothing to add more layers for warmth.
