I had enjoyed Trail Days Thursday and Friday but left before 7AM on Saturday. Tinman of Antigravity Gear said that Fire in My Bones was going to be there Saturday.

I heard nothing of this until I read about it in the Ohio news this (Sunday) morning. Very shocking. My prayers go out to everyone involved.

We were down the street from it when it happened. It is very tragic, and yes, Dutch was hit but he is ok. I'll let him tell his side if he wants. Fin knew many of the hikers, and had ridden down with us to visit everyone. I am just glad everyone made it out alive. The personal accounts told to us by witnesses were quite unsettling. I hope they change protocol next year, and do not place the vehicles behind the walkers in the parade. Funds were setting up around town to help raise money for the injured who had no insurance or enough coverage to cover the life-flights out of town.

My wife and I arrived in Damascus just in time for the group photo. See below. When the parade started, we were at Mount Rogers Outfitters, waiting on the parade. So, we were safe and sound. Seeing the scene just a bit later and all the ambulances and helicopters life-flighting people out and hearing first-hand reports, we thank God injuries were so few and relatively slight and no deaths.

I wonder if others noticed that both of the guy's outside rear-view mirrors appeared to be duct-tapped on, as if he had knocked them off in prior "incidents" of some sort? Not a positive clue as to his possible driving skills.

It was good to see so many fellow HFers there.

P.S. I'm kneeling with the orange Clemson shirt on. My wife is in a light blue blouse standing behind me.
