First official overnight in the hammock!

Thank you all for being so informative and helpful. I started with a GT ultralight and fell in love. then bought a BIAS Camper XL and will now never go back to ground camping! even slept better than in my bed. I messed up my first DIY bugnet so I bought a military bar net and used it last night till I make the new bugnet tomorrow. Used an 11.4x9.4 camp tarp from harbor freight and we got LOTS of rain. It was an awesome storm. the lightning was shining through the bugnet and I slept wonderfully. I didn't use anything for insulation except for my 50* sleeping bag but it didn't hit below 60* so I was fine. I brought my blue walmart pad just in case though.

Definitely ready to invest more into quality accessories and not feel bad about it!

And remember to bring a **** fork! Had to eat rice off my knife!

Thanks! you're from GA too! We went to the Oconee River campground. Its the closest thing to me I think. Was hoping for bike trails but didn't see any and the whiskey bottle was being passed around pretty quick!

Looks like a good time was had! That's just right down the road from me. Glad to see some white bass caught down there. The run up river was very spotty this year.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

    Congrats...

Yup, after my first real hammping adventure, I will not go back to a (shudder) tent without raising more fuss than a 6 yr old who hears the ice cream truck coming. Hey, wait a minute, you got steak on the plate....no fresh fish???

I was expecting to see whole fish roasting on a spit nothing wrong with eating rice with your fingers, they're practically designed for it!

Nice, looks like you had fun.

I plan on doing my first over nighter tomorrow or Tuesday night depending on the chance of rain.
