    Houston, we have a problem!!

    Can't fall asleep in my new hammock!! In the bed, it's zero to dream land about the time my head sinks into the pillow good, but in my hammock, that's a no go Sarn't!! Tried out my hammock Sat. night waiting for the Z monster for a couple of hours. I usually sleep on my stomach when I'm in the bed, so I know I must adjust to sleeping on my back again. Hammock is set up in my office at the correct 15' anchor points at 6', 30 degree hang with SRL set at about 103". Any tips for a brother??

    Sometimes it just takes a few tries before sweet slumber embraces you. Yeah...it is that good when it happens.
    Give it a few more tries.
    Carry forth.......

    It only gets Better

    I to had that problem on my first night. I was on a 3 day turkey hunt and brought my cot along just in case. Well after spending the money and time on this new sleeping adventure I decided that since I was going to use this system on a bike-packing trip this summer I needed to give is more nights. I slept great the next two nights and am now comfortable with the Hammock system.
    My non-professional advice to to give a few nights.

    Ambien??

    But seriously stomach sleeping is possible(ish) in a hammock. I've been known to side sleep on occasion. Maybe start there and see how that goes.

    Houston, we have a problem!!

    When I went full time, it took about a week before it was totally nature to sleep in a hammock. I was a stomach sleeper but now I'm a side sorta curled up sleeper. Give it a few night and play with the hammock hang a little at a time and you'll get there.

    Could it be that the hammock you have just don't fit you? I had to go thru 5 before I found "THE ONE".

    Shug nailed it...my hang ain't the same as yours. I use the old adage "paddle your own canoe"...I may like my foot end higher than my head end, or a tad more play in my ridgeline, or my sides to be staked out wider. It'll take a bit of time to find what works for you...lots to learn, lots to learn.

    * How much under-insulation?
    * How much top-insulation?
    * beanie or no beanie?
    * earplugs or no earplugs?

    These are all rhetorical questions, but all factors in getting you a great nights sleep.

    As I am light sleeper it took me a few tries. While I still wake up several times a night I still enjoy sleeping in my hammock. What I really dread is having to get up in the am to answer natures call.

    I have found out that the more you sleep in a hammock the better is gets. Just a lot of trial and error.
