    xlc, heartbreak

I recieved my 1.7 dl xlc lefty yesterday! Love this baby, its a lefty and while it took a little doing once i found how to hang this with the foot end soo much higher then the head in it was great! I slept in the hammock last night during a thunderstorm, under my oes deluxe and slept like a baby! today i played with it trying it with the over cover and netless (which is awesome ) and upon putting the net back on i found holes, and rips begining near the head end..I thought what the heck? bad fabric?? but upon closer inspection the holes go thru both layers at the same spot and they line up perfectly when laid in as the folds touch...then it dawned on me I left my metal watch (with the folding hasp which has a sharp enough edge to it) on and probably had it under my head as i slept or today as i was in and out of it...I am heartbroken, brand spanking new and I wreck it..so here is some pics and shot brandon an email, hopefully it can be fixed.. i just dont want to ruin any farther as with my weight i am sure it'll just rip..ugggg

Wow, that must have been a sharp watch! I had a DL 1.7 and that material was pretty tough, I thought. Sorry to see that

You may wish to try this product. I've heard some amazing endorsements.

    +1 Tear Aid.
Your XLC will no longer be pristine, but after it is patched the form/fit/function will be the same as before.

Yes, I was just going to write that you can patch it. All gear gets worn and like PretBek says as long as the functionality is the same. . . You just look more like a veteran hanger!

Tenacious tape. Get the clear one. As another xlc lefty owner I feel your pain. I had a pull and fixed it with this tape. What weight of fabric did you get?

Brady- i got the 1.7 double layer, which is usually bomb proof, but its the only way i can see it happening, waiting to hear back from brandon, he told me to look closer and see if threads were cut or not, and two out of the four were, and which is better tenacious tape or tear aid?
thanks everyone, I am sure i am gonne get this squared away but for now its off to the store, to buy either or that cabelas has, and a new watch!

Never used tear aid so can't speak to it. Hopefully someone else has used both and can speak to that.

Brandon got back to me, Excellent service, said that the two holes that are not torn are ok , and most likely they all are, but for those two that had threads tore he is sending me an adhesive patch to use... free !
