After looking at all the DIY for under-quilts I am trying to decide on taking an old sleeping bag and making it into a under-quilt or just trying to find a cheap under-quilt online? anyone know of some websites that sell under-quilts for fairly cheap (around 150ish). Or would it just be easier to work on the sleeping bag that I already have?
DIY works, but there's nothing cheap about underquilts. I've got a synthetic KAQ New River from Arrowhead Equipment that I've very happy with and it's in that pricepoint. Or, keep an eye out in the for sale section in the forum for a gently used item.
thanks for the tip ill see if I can find that underquilt and maybe just keep looking around on the forum.
Also take a look at te-wa underquilts. I've recently placed an order for some custom "Breeze" underquilts (summer) and the price is very reasonable. $135, and you can overstuff (which i did) with 1oz of down for an extra $10. I can't wait to get them! I've heard nothing but great reviews on Mikes work.
I have a jarbidge from arrowhead-equipment and it is perfect for me I put an inflatable sit pad from rei in my top quilt/ sleeping bag and it works with every hammock I have had. GTUL hh expedition and now my wbbb.
If you can find a cheap source for down underquilts.com has very nice shells I have been looking at.
