    SOLD: Cabela's 300W E.C.W.C.S. Spec Fleece Jacket L/XL

SOLD: a Cabela's E.C.W.C.S. spec jacket. Marked size large, but like much Cabela gear, it fits comfortably as a men's XL size. It measures 25.5" across the armpits, 27" from the base of the collar to the tail and 36" from the center of the collar to the cuff. Weighs 1lb10oz. Loden (foliage) green, nylon reinforcement panels on the shoulders and elbows, pit zips, zippered hand pockets, hem drawstring and Velcro tabs on the cuffs. Very similar in construction and design to the North Face Denali fleece jacket, but it doesn't cost $179 In excellent condition, soft with good loft and not dryer damaged. $37.50 including US shipping and PayPal fees.

You have no idea how tempted I am...I have a huge soft spot for fleece and this is an incredible deal...but alas it was 85 degrees here today and I already have too many fleeces...every time I purchase another my wife just shakes her head and walks away

Great fleece...it ought to sell quickly.

two quick questions...i'm slowly breaking down but the timing isn't great for me:
how long have you had it and how cold have you had it before you need to add another layer?

It is a couple years old, but has seen light use as a town jacket. I live in Seattle and it doesn't get below freezing often. Winter days are more like 40f-45f and wet. This fleece is too warm for me; a 200w with rain shell is more than enough. For summer hiking, I use R1 or Power Stretch for a mid layer. So that's why I'm selling it. I have fleece coming out my ears and I'll be putting some lighter stuff up for sale too.

How cold would it need to be before I added another layer? The first layer I would add would be a rain or wind shell. If it was cold enough to wear the 300w fleece, I would already be wearing a medium weight base layer like Capeline 2 or 3. So with the base layer, 300w fllece, shell, gloves and beanie, I would be good to the mid 20's for rest stops. For active use honking uphill with a pack, it would need to be colder than anything I usually encounter. I could see wearing just the fleece without a shell in windless conditions for active winter stuff like snowshoeing. It would make a good layer for winter hunting or fishing.

I use fleece because it breathes and survives wet cold high humidity conditions that will turn down into goose flavored oatmeal. For camp or long rest stops I add 100g style insulated jacket or vest for insulation past the R1/Power Stretch mid layers. I'm an ultralight hiker, so For me the 300w fleece is great for errands, chores, and a "car coat" when it does get cold. My folks live in Eastern Washington, where it gets a lot colder and I would live in the jacket there.
