purisk and toggles?

I have been playing around with the tarp set up and decided to use a prusik with a toggle to attach to the tarp seems to work (have not tried it more than the 10mins playing around in the yard though)... any reason I never see that mentioned here?

My basic idea was to have a quick attach tarp to ridge line with min. equipment and min. knots. Fast easy to learn/master and cheap.

The concept:
Setup Continuous Ridge Line
Add 2 prusik “loops” (1 at each end of RL)
Throw Tarp over RL
Put Toggle/Spike/trail stick through loop of tarp guyout straps
pull prusik loop over toggle (resting on guyout strap)
repeat for other side
Adjust pusiks until tarp is centered and tight

Seems to work
Seems pretty quick
Seems light enough
It is very cheap
It is pretty easy

It works in my head... Not sure about in field though? Anyone every tried it?

I haven't tried that as I pretty much never take my tarp off the ridge line. But I do have it attached via soft shackles. Your way is probably a few seconds quicker, but the toggles have the potential to put a hole in a packed tarp, if I understand your setup correctly.

yep that is pretty much it (replace your soft shackle with a toggle through the strap of the tarp)...

I currently (am still new at all this) do not leave my Tarp attached to its RL... I am clumisy and usually droped the whole miss on the ground when I was missing with RL. Now I just leave the Tarp on the pack until the RL is ready for it.

On one of my tarps, I have it setup with prussiks tied to the ridgeline on each end of the tarp. My tarp has key rings at the ends, so I connect the prussik to the key ring via a Dutch hook.

I larkshead a continuous loop through the loop on the tarp and the prussic to the ridgeline. Very similar.

I keep my tarp attached to the RL with soft shackles attached to the prussics.
Put the Nite Ize CamJams attached to the ends of the RL. Easy to loop around one tree and move to the next without ever dropping the tarp.

I've done something similar, instead of the tarp I did it with my bugnet. I incorporated a loop in my bug netting then made a loop with some shock cord and then made a diamond knot. That diamond knot then goes in the loop part of the prussik.

Very easy to setup and no hardware to buy.

I keep a small figure-9 on each end of the tarp ridgeline...never had a problem and the weight is negligible.

I use basically the same setup you described except I use a microbiner to attach the tarp to the prussic
