Ok let's try and organise a hang for say October/November down this way, that way the snow will be gone yet all of the Alpine National Park gates will be closed....which means we can hang in peaceful bliss after a small hike of only a few K's. I am available any weekend so if you lot can organise dates etc, I can organise the location and one which is central for us all...the options really are endless, only thing I will add is would you like to camp by a river/creek or up on top of the Great Dividing Range?

I don't know if I can make it there then, but I am doing a kayaking trip on the Murray in late August from Lock 8 to Renmark in SA. If any hangers are in the area at that time maybe we can meet up?

Sorry guys, off to Europe for a few months, motorcycle touring. Life's tough. I know. I guess I'll find out about the ease (or not) of hammocking over there. But, I'll be back!

Count me in. Based in Melbourne. Not sure if I can be counted a hammocker yet though - does it count if my hammock and UQ are in the post?

A bit of lead time would be good - I have a 1 year old I need to schedule around....

I'm in the South-East of Melbourne and the makings of my first hammock just arrived from Tier Gear. I ought to be ready by October/November. Would love to hang somewhere in the North-East of Victoria.

While I haven't done it (prefer more remote) there's a heap of places. Despite being a city we still have patches of bushland, reserves, national park etc etc within the city.
