Any Adelaide Hangers?
Any Adelaide Hangers?
I'm from the "Shire" regularly camp at the Royal National Park south of Sydney, Big Marley, Jibbon beach among other spots. There's unlimited water (filtered with Sawyer) and great fishing. Its free to camp and bringing along a Suntactics 14watt solar charger keeps electronics running... All this and its 1hour from Sydney CBD. Highly recommend to all Sydney based hangers.
There's a great fully serviced camping ground near Bundeena, toilets, showers and shops if that's your preference, but its $20 a night.
Google: bundeena 2230 for more info maps etc...
Hey all, I'm from sydney and keen to get together. I would be keen to meet up with some fellow hangers. Keep me in the loop if anything gets arranged...
Hey yeah I'm keen, based at the great ocean road Victoria though
I'm keen for a group hang.
Hi all! I'm from the US but currently living/working in Taiwan and am planning a trip to the great down under for Chinese New Year. I'd like to experience some "real nature"- ie. not that manufactured trails a stone's throw from the cities where I'll run into countless tourists doing a day "hike". I'll be spending time in both Sydney and Cairns- is hammock camping feasible there? I honestly don't know too much about these areas, just started researching/planning my trip. Hammocking in the outback is pretty much a no-go, right? It's all desert with nothing to hang from?
Sorry to hijack the thread...if anyone wants to hang in either of these places during Chinese new year, I'm totally down to make new friends! (See, I'm staying on topic...)

I just came back from a desert trip, and the only place I couldn't use my hammock was at Uluru. I was told that I need a free standing tent. All good, except for my sore back in the morning from sleeping on the ground lol.
Try and get out of the Great Barrier Reef and camp on the islands, it's an amazing experience.
