    Adding Non-slip Strips to Pad?

While only two nights of experience, pretty easy to see the issue folks talk about with my Wally World pad sliding around. Was wondering if anyone had ever tried hot glueing a few strips (presumably width wise) of that polyester matting they sell for throwing under area carpets to the bottom of their ccf type pad.

Here is the type of thing I am thinking of:
    http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Stop-Non...n+slip+padding

Seems a few strips wouldn't add much weight, but have no idea how well it would adhere or work..figured I see if anyone had given it a shot.

    Thanks

    Might work...try it and see.

Another possibility is that non-slip stuff they make for shelves. WM carries it in housewares.

I have heard that shelf/drawer liners work to keep the pad in place...no experience with it though

I seem to remember someone using hot glue to make zigzag lines across their pad and that alone kept it from sliding.

I thought it was silicone caulking to do that job. Just putting in a grid of small drops has reportedly done the job.

+1 on the silicone. It works great to keep the pad in place on a tent floor or the hammock. I just made a grid of thin lines on the bottom. Be sure to let it dry for a couple of days (just in case) before you deflate or roll it up. Dust with a little talc if it ends up too tacky. Just like seam sealing a tarp.

When I was a ground dweller last year I had trouble with my sleeping pad sliding on the tent floor. I tried tried the no slip shelf liner that some of the others talked about on the tent floor and it kept the pad in place.

Yep, I put some thin ribbons of Dow silicone on my blue wall mart pad for use in the Clark and it does not move.
